Old Swan Brewery Jetty 2

This is the second (finished) shot from my Sunday morning at the Old Swan Brewery Jetty.
This one had a bit of trouble stitching but with a few tweaks it worked out in the end.

I also finished my roll of 120film that I started shooting over Easter, I’m now just waiting to get it back from the lab which should be Friday or Saturday.
More info on that project when I get the film back.

Old Swan Brewery Jetty

Sunday morning I met up with a member of a photographic group I’m in to do some long exposures.
It was good to have someone to chat with about different techniques and equipment rather than just being by myself like I am most of the time.
This is the second panorama I took, the first would not stitch which is a bummer but it happens sometimes. I have another that I’ll post tomorrow.

Yellagonga Regional Park @ Sunrise

I got up early this day to make sure I was where I wanted to be at the time I needed to be, you see I had a shot in my head that I wanted, I have been thinking about it for a while so the night before I decided that I would try and get that shot.
I pull up and park my car, finish my coffee, grab my bag from the boot and start walking to the spot where I want to take my photo. The air has a chill to it, there is a slight breeze, its perfect for the shot I have in mind.
I get to my spot and………………..the water is to low and has been over grown by weeds or something………SHIT!
I try to think what else is around the area I’m in that is close, after some thinking I remember that I’m near Yellagonga Regional Park and there some old buildings there.
Yellagonga Regional Park is about a 20min walk from where I was and it was lucky that I was there with around 30mins until sunrise!
I walk around the old buildings looking for a composition that I like, I find two, one that will make a nice 3:1 panorama and a slightly wider one that makes a 4:1 pano.

Here is the 3:1pano I like this composition better but feel the sky lets it down.
Horses, Cows & Veggies - The Bunkhouse, Yellagonga Regional Park

This one is the 4:1 which could be printed 2m wide! I feel the composition lets this one down but it has a better sky.

Which one do you like better? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Ocean Reef Marina

I went to the Ocean Reef Marina tonight, I have never really shot there and I seem to go to Burns Beach too often.
The sunset didn’t light up like I was hoping but I still like this shot. I don’t normally do much PP but I have done a fair bit
on this to get it right how I wanted it.
This will be that last from me for a week or so as I go back to site tomorrow.
I’m feeling inspired again. Just hope work doesn’t take it away again!

Jumbuck Hill Park Glow

Another shot from my trip to Bells Rapids on Monday.
After walking along the Avon river for a while I decided that I would try to make my way up the hill to try and get a shot showing the view as I was making my way up a little track I saw this opening that was bathed I this gorgeous morning light so I stopped and quickly set up my tripod and took this shot.
What do you think?

Bells Rapids

Monday I got up early and decided I would go to Bells Rapids, I have been there before but have never had a good look around so I just started walking up a little track along the river (which is almost totally dry) this is the first composition I came across although I’m not sure that I’m happy with the way it turned out.
Maybe I’ll go back after some rain and try again.

Perth from Statham’s Quarry

After packing my tripod and other gear (I kept my camera out) and just after saying to one of the other photographers that I didn’t like the look of the city with all the smog that was covering it I decided to take this, Its two shots hand held and when I took it I didn’t think that it would turn into a decent shot.
Just goes to show that it pays to have your camera out at all times even when you don’t think there will be a shot!

More from my trip to Statham’s Quarry.

Just wanted to post a couple more from my trip to Statham’s Quarry.
This place is on my list to go to and explore, next time I think I’ll go back for a sunrise.

First is a B&W image from a slightly different angle to the color one I posted yesterday.

This second image is from the Perth side of the quarry looking to the north of Perth.
